Day 4 - Bruges

We returned the e bikes this morning, but we're planning on getting them again on Sunday. It's forcast to be a bit rainy today, so we've decided to head off on the train to Bruges. It's a 90 minute trip. It rains all the way, but has stopped by the time we arrive.

Bruges is a UNESCO listed heritage town and is known for its canals, cobbled streets, medieval buildings, chocolate and of course beer! It looks like it has stepped out of a picture book (except for all of the tourists - to which we contributed).
It's a pretty big place, and we only managed to see a small portion of it in the 6 hrs we spent there. It reminds us of a combination of Bamberg and Venice! You could wander around for a week, just exploring all of the small streets, canals, cafes, chocolate shops and restaurants. 6hrs didn't do it justice.

We hadn't had a Belgian waffle yet, so we shared one and washed it down with a hot chocolate.

There was a beer or 2 sampled.

And some frites.

It started raining just as we were heading back to catch the train home. Tea consisted of a homemade baguette. An early night in tonight. Tomorrow we're just going to explore Ypres!
